YMSL VIENNA - OAKTON CHAPTER

YMSL Vienna - Oakton "YMSLVO" was launched in February 2014 by a group of engaged moms who desired to work together with their teenage sons by serving alongside them in the community.

Ours is the first chapter on the east coast; the initial provisional class included rising 8th graders.

YMSLVO will focus on providing teenage boys with the opportunities to volunteer in our community, improve leadership skills, and develop new life skills. YMSLVO currently serves over 23 philanthropy's in our area.
In addition to philanthropy work, boys attend six meetings a year with their grade level. Meetings are used to expand their knowledge and experience in a variety of topics such as civic responsibility, practical skills, budgeting, social skills, philanthropy, and many other life skills. Since the boys plan and implement their own meetings, each one holds a position of responsibility.
Members reside in the Vienna-Oakton and surrounding area
.  The Vienna-Oakton Chapter is currently comprised of 89 members with 97 sons in grades rising 9th - rising 11th.  We currently represent 14 different high schools in the area.
